This sermon was not selected for its eloquence or profound expositions but for its genuine and sincere plain-spoken truths. Sis. Clara was born in 1885 and her memory connects us to an era that predates our audio archives. 2020 was a difficult year but the experiences she shares here provide excellent context that highlights our prosperity even during a pandemic. On Monday night of Camp Meeting 1995, the first passage that Bro. Ben Jernigan read was Matthew 1:18-23.  Bro. Ben expounds on the biblical truth that Jesus came to save people from their sins.  He urges sinners to quit their sinning and explains how Jesus came to provide full deliverance from sin.  He continues the sermon by quoting a multitude of scriptures proclaiming that people must live a holy life in order to make it to heaven.

I encourage each of you to take time to listen to this sermon, especially young folks who may not be old enough to remember Bro. Ben’s preaching.

“Jesus is the reason for the season” -  These hymns focus on the salvation we celebrate and include “The Light of the World is Jesus”, “Beautiful Star of Bethlehem”, multiple renditions of “Joy to the World”, “O Come All Ye Faithful”, “O Holy Night”,  “Wonderful Story of Love” and many others.  There may be an Easter hint in several hymns.  May the Spirit bless you in these hymns during the Christmas season.

At Camp Meeting 1955 Bro. Paul Merritt delivers an incredibly powerful sermon based on core doctrinal principals.  He paints a clear division between letting sin reign in our mortal bodies vs. yielding our members as righteousness unto God.  He continues illustrating from the scripture that unless we have the foundation of the doctrine of Jesus Christ in our life, we have the doctrine of the devil.

As was so typical of this preacher, leader and psalmist, he even shares a portion of one of his songs.

Please make a few minutes for this sermon; it was so memorable that Uncle Leon Stewart quoted from it nearly 50 years later.

Bro. Chris reminds us that we serve “The Righteous Judge” who judges according to the deeds done in the body, whether they be good or evil.  He exhorts that we be steadfast and unmovable always abounding in the work of the Lord as this eloquent and heartfelt sermon establishes biblical truths to comfort and convict.
